Nintendo and The Pokémon Firm took some flack this week for being granted the patent for summoning a personality and letting it struggle one other character. PC Gamer spoke with online game patent lawyer, Kirk Sigmon, about Nintendo and The Pokémon Firm being granted such a used mechanic in video video games and he said that they need to not have been granted the patent and that it shouldn’t have occurred, full cease calling it “an embarrassing failure of the US patent system.”
“Broadly, I don’t disagree with the numerous on-line complaints about these Nintendo patents,” stated Sigmon, whose opinions don’t symbolize these of his agency and shoppers. “They’ve been an embarrassing failure of the US patent system.”
